Cleaning Assistance

Cleaning of the common areas of your villa is carried out every two weeks. This includes the lounge and dining area, the kitchen and laundry and the common bathroom.

Internet

Due to our PABX telephone system, modems cannot be supported on phone lines. However all bedrooms have a high speed internet connection point.

You will need to connect to our internet service provider with a network cord which is available from the office.
Once you have paid for the connection, the cost of the internet access is included in your boarding fee and you receive 500MB of downloads per month.

The intranet is available free of charge to all students who are connected to our internet service provider. The intranet enables students to access university materials such as the library website and emails without being charged.

Cost of extra downloads are:$27.50 for 500Mb
 $55.00 for 1GB

Internet credit rolls over into the following month if it isn't all used.

Each resident is allocated an email address at check-in. eg, yourname@thevillage.net.au.

Telephone

Every student has their own telephone line in their room. Calls are pre-paid and can either be direct debited from your bank account or paid at the office. Calls to security and between rooms at The Village are free.

Outdoor Facilities

A leisure pool is located at either end of the complex and offers a peaceful area with a BBQ to enjoy the Sunshine Coast evenings.

In the centre of the complex is a 5 lane 25 metre lap pool with BBQ area, alongside a flood lit basketball and tennis court so remember to bring tennis racquets and basketballs.

Vending machines are located next to the lap pool and offer a variety of drinks and confectionary.

Security

The Village management places a great deal of importance on the security of residents. We have night security patrolling the grounds on a regular basis and can be contacted after hours for any problems or lockouts.

Optional Extras

We also supply extras such as linen packs for $350.00. These must be ordered when you complete your application.

Boarding Agreement

On completion of your application you will be required to sign a boarding agreement. Please check the dates carefully as you are legally bound to pay your rental fees for the period of time shown on the boarding agreement. Should you decide to leave before the departure date on your agreement you are still liable for all weekly boarding fees until that date OR until you find a new tenant (approved by management) to take over the tenancy of your room. An administration fee equal to one week rent will also apply.

Other Costs

Electricity, phone rental, internet access and cleaning assistance are all included in your boarding fees. The only other costs are food and phone usage. At the end of your tenancy you will be required to pay for carpet cleaning in your room and an exit clean charge.
